I am trying to drill a .750" hole into a solid PVC rod on a lathe. Total part length is just under 4" so I'm going at this from 2 sides. I can't seem to keep the plastic from melting. I've tried multiple feed and speed variations, coolant, and pecking and each run gives the same result. Every hole looks just as bad as the one before.
